I've been using Canon photography gears for a very long time and have stocked various lens. Canon 24mm f2.8 is an extremely sharp lens. My copy was mfd April 2017 and I even got warranty till Nov2019 !! 24mm EF-S is an excellent crop body and gives around 38mm wide which is good for casual photography, and is so light weight that you wouldn't feel it carrying with your dslr !!
A highly portable pancake lens that’s ideal for travel and street photography. Its advanced optical design ensures great image quality, while a large f/2.8 maximum aperture allows hand-held low-light shooting. STM focusing delivers smooth, near-silent AF when capturing movies. At $149, the EF-S 24mm f /2.8 STM is Canon’s second lowest priced lens, beat only by the EF 50mm f /1.8 STM ). If $149 is a little above your budget, you can save some cash and pick up refurbished copies of this lens at stores like MPB and KEH. With it’s low price and great features, the 24mm is an excellent step up from your “kit” lens.
Let me share 5 reasons why I believe that Canon 10-18mm lens is a must-have wide-angle lens. 1. Ultra-wide angle of view. If you are or have used the 18-55mm kit lens on your Canon APS-C body, there might have been situations when you wanted to go wider than 18mm. Most people would say that’s shy of being a good portrait lens like an 50mm (75mm equivalent) or too narrow a field of view to be a good normal lens like a 30mm (45mm
The somewhat standard cases designed to fit such a camera with the kit lens attached are too big. Hence I'm looking for a small camera case that comfortably holds a Canon 600D with an EF 40mm f/2.8 (or even an EF-S 24mm f/2.8) pancake lens attached, along with a camera strap.
Macro Mechanics Sharpness Sunstars. Overall performance top. The Canon 24mm f/2.8 STM is as tiny as the tiniest lens ever made by Canon, the 40mm STM, and is even lighter. This is Canon's lightest lens of all time; lighter even than the 50/1.8 II. This tiny 24mm lens is optically wonderful as well.
First of all it's a pancake lens thus about as small as it gets but despite the small size it is still pretty fast. Unlike its cousins (Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM (APS-C) and EF 40mm f/2.8 STM (Full Format)), it sticks to the field of view of a classic "35mm" lens (22mm * 1.6x) so it's still wide enough for many applications - especially street
